    West Bengal Police forms nine-member SIT to probe Murshidabad Waqf violence

    Following violent protests in Murshidabad, West Bengal, over the Waqf Amendment Act, the state police have formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate the unrest. The demonstrations, which resulted in fatalities and property damage, prompted the deployment of BSF personnel at the request of the state government.
